BIO
Brought up split between Britain and France, my influences formed early. Most of the year spent in England amongst trees, rivers and dew and summers spent on wild French coastlines.
Self-taught and with no artistic network, I experiment and harmonise with natural hues and demonstrate an extensive range of painting skills, both in medium and subject matter. I am not keen on bright, loud colours or noises and lean towards earthy colour palettes and contemplative hazy blue hues. I am told my landscapes and seascapes bring the wild outdoors indoors, with energy, light and a hidden story set amongst the dewy trees or against the invigorating salty winds of the coast.
Health matters dictated the course of life, several times. During this time, art was an escape allowing access to imaginary woods, lakes and seas in a way which was physically sometimes impossible to access. The turbulence and changeability of autumnal and winter skies, the sea with its vigour, its changing character, its energy, reignited strength, body and mind.
I have exhibited in several places in my former hometown of Bristol, including displays and sick children’s workshops in the Bristol Children’s Hospital, some restaurant murals, commissions and private exhibitions.
Having spent significant time living along the Brittany coastline I now live in Highcliffe, Christchurch, Dorset UK where we are blessed with incredible coastlines and bird nature reserves. The inspiration triggered by such scenery is endless and I hope to create more to reflect it.
